Thirty years after first frequenting the Back Porch Café as an aspiring artist, Pamella Bounds-Seemans will exhibit new paintings at the Rehoboth Beach restaurant from July 15 to Aug. 11. Bounds-Seemans, born and raised in Milton, is known for her acrylic paintings surrounded by a collage border and hand-painted frame. Her latest series, 'Summer Pleasures,' will feature local scenes, still lifes, and historical images reinterpreted in her one-of-a-kind whimsical style. "One of my favorite summer memories is going to the Back Porch underneath a full moon and drinking cognac coffees that they would set on fire. It sets the right ambiance for my work, which exudes a bohemian essence. If it were my last night on earth, I'd go to the Back Porch." The restaurant, now in its 36th season, is open daily from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. for lunch and Sunday brunch and re-opens from 6-10 p.m. for dinner.

On Saturday July 10, from 6 -9:00 P.M. the gallery will host an artist's reception for Pittsburgh based artist Rick Bach. The exhibition will consist of all new work, including paintings on aluminum, and metal sculptures. Also on display will be new pedestal mobiles by Maryland artist Santo Mirabile. The Rick Bach show runs thru August 12th.

The opening of “Addition and Subtraction” by Sarah Loertscher and Gayle Friedman will be on display through Aug. 13. “This show contrasts two women jewelry artists who are dissimilar in many ways but are harmonious in others,” gallery owner Lowe said. “The juxtaposition of Sarah’s complex yet specific shapes with Gayle’s free-form pieces showcases the broad spectrum of styles that fall under the umbrella of ‘art jewelry’. Despite this, they both use similar materials and techniques to reach two different conclusions.” For those who cannot attend the Saturday opening, Heidi Lowe Gallery will host an opening for locals from 6-9 p.m. Tuesday, July 13. Open daily from 10 a.m.-9 p.m.

Gary Fisher is known for his vivacious use of color and this exhibit is no exception. This captivating collection of works will include oils on canvas, board and paper...colorful still lifes, abstracts and landscapes. A long-time environmental enforcement attorney with the US Justice Department, he started painting almost 30 years ago and now works as a professional artist in Rehoboth Beach and Washington, DC, with much of his work consisting of commissioned pieces. The exhibit will be on view July 2-15 at the Philip Morton Gallery in Rehoboth Beach, DE. A wine and hors d'oeuvres reception for the artist will take place Friday, July 2 5-8pm and everyone is invited to attend. Mr. Fisher's work will also be featured on Saturday evening, July 10 during the Gallery Collective MOSAIC's “Second Saturdays” Destination Art Walk from 6pm to 9pm.
