Rehoboth is an Art Town
On SATURDAY, APRIL 9th, from 2:00 - 5:00pm, visit the 10 fine art galleries of Mosaic: The Rehoboth Beach Gallery Collective. Each gallery of the collective will offer a reception and a new exhibition. Member galleries represent some of the finest galleries in the mid-Atlantic region. Second Saturday Art Walks are from 2:00 - 5:00 pm from January through April, and from 6:00 - 9:00 pm from May through November. Maps are available at any participating gallery.

On April 17, 2010 The City of Rehoboth Beach and the City of Greve, Italy signed a Sister City agreement in a gesture of friendship and goodwill, and agreed to collaborate for the mutual benefit of their communities by exploring educational, economic and cultural opportunities. This relationship was formed specifically to enhance the relationship with Greve, Italy subsequent to the installation of the Verrazzano monument on the boardwalk in Rehoboth Beach. This year, the delegation From Greve will be here in Rehoboth on Saturday, April 16th. Bin 66 will be having a free wine tasting to celebrate and enjoy the great wines from this town Verrazzano on Saturday April 16 at our downtown location from 3-7pm with free Italian cuizine to match!

APRIL 12th - Over thirty students in grades 1-8 have worked for 10 weeks to hone their skills in acting, dancing, singing and many other facets of the performing arts. This semester’s showcase gives them the opportunity to shine in musical numbers such as “Shoeless Joe from Hannibal Mo,” “Castle on a Cloud,” and “Chim Chim Cher-ee.” Tuesday, April 12, 5:00 pm. Tickets: $5 Tickets available at the door on the evening of the performance. Stick around after the Broadway Bound showcase for our Private Voice and Piano recital! Students of all ages perform selections from their semester of individual study in voice or piano, led by our wonderful instructors Jerry Birl and Marcie Schiff. Starts at 7:00 pm. Admission is free!

APRIL 29 - Rehoboth Beach Public Library Celebrates Jazz Appreciation with a New York Jazz Artist to discuss: “What’s All That Jazz About?” Join the Rehoboth Beach Library on Friday, April 29, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. with New York Jazz artist Shenole Latimer. Through a carefully balanced combination of live performance, lecturing, and prepared listening examples of classic recordings from jazz icons including Miles Davis and John Coltrane, jazz saxophonist and clinician Shenole Latimer educates his audience about how to follow along with jazz tunes, as well as what is involved with learning how to listen to and appreciate music from the jazz idiom. This event is free and open to the Public.
APRIL 29TH- Join Shenole Latimer at the Rehoboth Beach Public Library on April 29 at 1p.m. for "What's All That Jazz About?”This is a unique and interactive presentation that is designed to show the average music listener how to actually be able to follow along with and appreciate the highly improvisational nature of jazz. Shenole Latimer educates his audience about how to follow along with jazz tunes, as well as what is involved with learning how to listen to and how to value music from the jazz idiom. The presentation features some live performance, entertaining demonstrations, lecturing, and examples given from significant sound recordings from several jazz greats, including: Cannonball Adderley, Miles Davis, John Coltrane, and Chick Corea. There is also a Q&A segment held at the end of the program.
