Lupo di Mare Now Open!
247-C Rehoboth Ave.
Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971
302-226-2240
Located at the site of Hotel Rehoboth, serving dinner from 4:00.
Matt Haley’s new Italian restaurant in downtown Rehoboth will change its name from “Spiaggia” to “Lupo di Mare”. The name “Spiaggia”, which means beach in Italian, was chosen without knowledge of a Chicago based restaurant group that holds a federal trademark on the word. To avoid any conflict, Haley decided to switch to another name that he had originally considered for his fifth local restaurant. “It was done unwittingly and can be easily undone,” he said. “The owners of the Chicago Spiaggia are growing their business and we have no intention of interfering with the success of another restaurant group.” Haley’s venture, located in the new Hotel Rehoboth on Rehoboth Ave opened just three weeks ago to rave reviews. “Lupo Di Mare” means sea wolf in Italian.
