The Rehoboth Beach Paint Out Exhibition and Sale of Artwork

Rehoboth Beach Main Street and Rehoboth Art League's Paint Out event has expanded this year to include an entire weekend of arts-related events sponsored by Community Bank Delaware!

Thirty regional artists have been juried into the Paint Out event, and from dawn to dusk May 7th and 8th they'll be "painting out" in 13 locations that include parts of the boardwalk, downtown Rehoboth, Silver Lake and Gordon’s Pond.

On Saturday May 8th downtown will be brushed with an art vibe. In addition to the artists working outdoors, the beach blocks of beautiful Baltimore and wonderful Wilmington Avenues will be filled with the bright tents and wares of local 3-D and photography artisans from 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  Discover beautiful artwork by the following artists in the following locations:

Featuring Paint Out:

What is a Paint Out?

Painting en plein air (in the open air) is a delightful art form. Plein air paintings are valuable works in demand by a wide range of collectors. Our festival will begin on May 7, when the artists arrive and begin to set up their easels outdoors, all over downtown Rehoboth.   The artists may choose any spot within the downtown corporate limits of Rehoboth Beach.  Painting will take place throughout the weekend and there will be plenty of opportunities for tourists and locals to observe the artists at work.

Approximately 30 artists will be invited into the show. These artists will participate and compete for prize money plus the opportunity to show their work in an exhibit on May 10 the last day of the weekend’s activities. Be on the lookout for plein air artists on The Board walk, at Silver Lake and all around the downtown area.
