Community Flood Insurance Outreach
The Williams Insurance Agency is presenting a Community Outreach for Flood Awareness at the Rehoboth Beach Convention Center on August 20, 2008 from 6:00 PM- 8:00 PM. Guest speakers Judy Marvel and Joe Zagone from FEMA, Greg Williams from DNREC, and Annette Winston from Selective Insurance will be there to discuss the current issues surrounding flood insurance affecting homeowner's in Sussex County and compliance issues relating to insurance premiums. The purpose of this outreach is to educate and inform the public about flood insurance! This program will be free of charge, but reservations are requested as seating is limited. Dogfish Dash
The Dogfish Dash on Sunday, September 21, 2008, is a fantastically fun 5k/10k out-and-back race to support The Nature Conservancy. The course leaves downtown Rehoboth and winds along the Cape Henlopen State Park's Breakwater-Junction trail. Enjoy the views during the race, and then have a great time at the post-race party at Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats. We'll have race awards, food, beer, raffle give-aways and lots of fun! All this... and you will be at the beach, supporting the great work of the Nature Conservancy. Hometown Christmas Parade
Monday evening along Rehoboth Avenue beginning at 6:30 p.m. A local tradition, the parade will feature more music, more costumes and more fun than ever, with volunteers from the Fire Department, Police, Public Works and community organizations. Dozens of local groups, bands and participants have already signed up. Line-up starts at 4:00 The parade begins at State Road, travels East to the Boardwalk and the turns West and goes back up to the Convention Center. Parade entrants are judged, with prizes awarded at the Christmas Party immediately following the parade at Convention Hall. Youngsters can chat with Santa and light refreshments will be served. Groups and individuals wanting entry information should call the Hometown Parade voice mail at 302-441-8615 or e-mail rmillman@cityofrehoboth.com for an application.
